And you thought the stepsisters were wicked....

I'm not who they think I am. A docile girl who meekly obeys her stepmother and stepsisters. Some kind of sick angel who cheerfully bears their mistreatment. That's what I WANT them to think. Because then they won't suspect what I'm really up to.

The ball, the prince - it's all part of my plan to come out on top. Stepmother and her demented daughters will pay for every floor I have scoured, every sneer I have borne. They don't know about the white magic, how I use it to enhance myself. They can't see that my heart is black as midnight, rotten as a poisoned apple.

They're about to find out.

When I was browsing for new books to read, I stumbled upon this book. And I was immediately intrigued by its description. Basically, I love fairy tale re-tellings. The reason why I love those stories is because of Once Upon A Time series. Oh, how I love it! OUAT is everything. But still, I couldn't continue to watch the series. Poor me!

The reason I started to read this immediately:

1. It's Dark.

2. I want to know how Cinderella will be when she was not being a sweet little innocent girl.

What do I love about this book? IT'S TWISTED, MAN! I was jumping with joy whenever I read something that I did not see coming. This book made me happy and laugh like an Evil Queen. Evil shouldn't make me happy. Damn those who said evil shouldn't be praised. It's totally dark man. #iamnotashamed

As the original tale, Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters are the very same. Torturing her. But Cinderella is not the same. She was patiently waiting to avenge them by being Queen.

"I hate being good."

When Cinderella hates being good, then that's where our dark re-telling arises.

I totally loved the book. The precious book. Another thing I loved about this book is you will never find a GOOD thing in this book. Everyone was twisted in some ways: Cinderella, the charming Prince, and even the fairy godmother, who was a nutter. *Squealing in joy*

It's been a long time since I read a darker novel. To think of that, did I read any novel with the darker theme? Maybe I should check those out.

Shall we talk about the Prince? He is more EVIL than Cinderella. Once she came to know the real Prince, she didn't want to marry him. But being the evil prince, he would not agree with it. Would he?

*SPOILER STARTS*Prince has a daughter whose name is --drumroll-- SNOW WHITE*SPOILER ENDS*

"I feel the aura of comfort coming from the mirror. And I know who I am.

I am the Evil Queen."

The thing I don't like about this book:

1. This is so short. I can understand this being a novella. But I want more. I want to know every detail of this twisted world.

2. I don't have any problems.

I recommend this book to everyone who likes to read fairy tale re-telling if they don't mind it for being darker.

When I read the synopsis of the next book in this world(not the series), I kind of felt OUAT vibes. For that reason alone, I will read that one.

I can rant about this book for 24*7. You don't want that right? So do yourself a favor and read this at once.

MY RATINGS: Outstanding

~Until next time
